Hi everyone, trust we’re all doing great today?it’s another episode of our blog post, and today we’ll be talking about something quite short and very important. Can you take a quick guess what it is about?🤔 It’s about:

HUNGER.

This is something quite relatable because at every point in time everyone has been hungry, I hope you are not hungry right now though😄.

Okay so what is hunger?

Hunger is a strong desire or craving to eat. Most times though you can have an appetite for something which is not food, it is very important to channel one’s appetite to something important or necessary because this is a very strong force which if not properly harnessed can be destructive.

Now let’s take a look at what the Bible has to say about hunger.

One of the beautitudes in Matthew 5:6 says:

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.
Matthew 5:6 NKJV

“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.
Matthew 5:6 MSG

From the above scriptures we can see something quite profound,you can work up your appetite yourself! Yes, inasmuch as you can naturally become hungry to eat, you can also supernaturally become hungry for God, for more of God, for a move of God,for a word from God and much more.The scriptures say you are blessed when you are hungry for God. It’s really sad that these days most people are hungry for things which are not unto edification, there are many things that may be permissible but are not beneficial. That’s why Paul says in 1corinthians 6:12 and 1corinthians10:23 and I quote from the message translation:

Just because something is technically legal doesn’t mean that it’s spiritually appropriate. If I went around doing whatever I thought I could get by with, I’d be a slave to my whims.
1 Corinthians 6:12 MSG

Hunger is a sign of good health!

I’ll like to leave us with a scripture that should stir up something in your heart:

Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life. Come every day to me and you will never be hungry. Believe in me and you will never be thirsty.
John 6:35 TPT

Ever heard of the lyrics: only you can satisfy me,only you can satisfy my soul?The song writer here talks about Jesus as the only one who can satisfy.

Why do you hunger for what does not satisfy? Why do you spend money on what is not good?

Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Isaiah 55:2 NKJV

The solution to not craving the desires of this world is in coming to Jesus EVERYDAY! The answer is that simple.

Prayer point:

Father,please saturate my heart with desires for you only,make me hunger for you everyday.
